A year ago, two Rapid City Police officers died in the line of duty. There were no official plans scheduled, but a crowd, including friends and family of the victims, visited the site of the shootings.

The On Eagles' Wings ministry came to Rapid City to bring the “resurrection to the reservation." The 40 person young adult group uses hoops, hip-hop and hope to evangelize to teens and young adult Native Americans. “We go where the youth hang out,” Joe Donnell, 33, a Native American evangelist, said. In Native communities, that often means a basketball court.

covering the myrtle fire.

I arrived at the scene of the Myrtle Fire when it was zero percent contained. Over several days, the Myrtle fire consumed more than 10,000 acres and forced dozens to evacuate. The fire only burned a few structures, but it came within a mile of the small town of Pringle, famous in these parts for its pile of bicycles.
