wayne de la cruz

Love the light in this portrait. De La Cruz is a seasoned musician and a man who appreciates classic organs.

zombies.

I had an assignment a few weeks ago to photograph a zombie run. I took a few of the zombies to the side to make some portraits.

leo p. hamel, 1918-2011.

I received a message that Mr. Hamel passed away on Oct. 23. I met him briefly and took his portrait as an intern for the Valley News last year. The article was for the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America and Hamel was the first cub master for Troop #38. He was kind, easy going, and even though we had just met, he talked to me like we knew each other for years.

x-treme bull riders... after the ride.

I wanted to do a portrait series to get the ball rolling in 2011. I decided upon the x-treme bull riders after they ride the bull because it would give a different look for the readers. Usually we photograph the bull riders while riding and from the sidelines (or at least from a distance). Yes, these pictures too are from the sidelines. However, I hope they bring out more of the riders' personality on an individual level... rather than the usual visuals where they are accompanied by a bull.
